Favre Does Rare Live Radio Interview

Brett Favre had decided to not return to the NFL for a 19th season. Tuesday morning his daugther Breleigh, 10, came to him crying, and according to Favre, told her famous father "Daddy, I really was hoping we could go to the Super Bowl one more time."

One day after telling Vikings Head Coach Brad Childress that he would not report to training camp, Brett Favre did a rare live radio interview Wednesday.

Favre, 39, appeared on the Rick & Bubba Show XM radio. The NFL quarterback discussed his decision to not play for the Vikings, despite having off season surgery on his throwing shoulder, and working out with high school and college players near his home in Hattisberg, Mississippi.

Who are Rick & Bubba? A couple of good 'ol boys from WZZK radio, Birmingham, Alabama, that are described as "family friendly". Rick and his wife Sherri lost their youngest son Bronner (age 2½) after drowning in the family swimming pool. Rick's eulogy for his dead son became a popular item on

To the best of my knowledge, the only live radio Favre has done in the last 3 or 4 years was with Chris Havel on The Fan 107.5-FM in Green Bay, to promote his annual celebrity softball game. Deanna Favre has recently been a guest on Rick & Bubba. According to Deanna, Favre needed to explain his decision to skip a return to football with Minnesota.
