Green Bay - - Packers long snapper Rob Davis, 39, has announced his retirement from football, and will stay on as the team's Director of Player Development, helping young players become acclimated to life in Green Bay and the NFL.
Fullback William Henderson was released last year. Brett Favre announced his retirement. So Davis is the last active player on the Packers roster in their last trip to the Super Bowl under Mike Holmgren ending in defeat to the Denver Broncos. The photo shows Davis before the start of the 2007 Packers training camp saying goodbye to his daughter which ran on the front page of the Green Bay Press Gazette.
